On 25 May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) entered into force establishing a new data privacy regime in the EU. As a binding legal instrument of the European Union the Regulation is directly applicable in every Member State, thus providing a uniform level of data protection in all Member States.
Each data subject has the right to access the personal data transmitted by her or him as well as the right to rectification, to erasure, to restriction of processing or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability.
If the data subject considers that the rights relating to her or him are not or not sufficiently complied with, she or he has the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority.
